Scheduled Maintenance

At Vitek’s Autoworks we recommend oil change intervals every 10,000km or once a year.

In Calgary our extreme weather conditions and fast changing temperatures alter the consistency of your synthetic oil. Sticking in a regular oil service schedule will maintain the life of your vehicle. It may also prevent additional expenses over time.

Our Service Packages are important for maintaining your BMW and Mini’s top level of quality. Many of these vehicles have service indicator lights on your instrument cluster that will let you know when your maintenance is due.

These service packages that we have put together are above and beyond the regular general maintenance that BMW/Mini recommends and through our years of experience we believe that these service packages are critical to maintaining the health and reliability of your vehicles.

The latest production vehicles have incorporated “CBS” or Condition Based Service into their on board monitors. This system simplifies your maintenance schedule so you can easily monitor when other individual services are due. Maintaining these intervals and keeping records allow you to insure you keep the resale value of your investment at its peak.

Coolant keeps your engine within normal operation temperature, prevents freezing in winter and maintains the internal surfaces of your engine by preventing corrosion. New coolants protects and lubricates your coolant system. As coolant ages, the pH levels drops and it can no longer provide peak level of protection. Coolant is not subjected to the same extreme conditions as engine oil and therefore does not need to be changed as frequently.

Transmission system services should be performed every 100,000km – 150,000km to maintain the long term durability and protection of your transmission. Most BMW and Mini transmissions have “lifetime fluid” according to BMW factory service guidelines and are to be changed at owner’s request.

Just like other operating fluids in your BMW and Mini, power steering fluid is less effective in providing lubrication and protection for the power steering components as it ages.
